Does my TV support it?
Casting works on TVs with Chromecast built-in or Google TV (many Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips and Vizio models), and on any TV with a Chromecast plugged in. Look for "Chromecast built-in" or "Google TV" on the box or in the TV's settings.
My TV doesn't show up
- Put your phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi. On mobile data your phone can't see the TV.
- Turn off any VPN on your phone.
- Guest, hotel and office networks often hide devices from each other. Use your home network, or scan the QR code on the screen instead.
- iPhone: allow local network access in Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network > Mafia.
- Make sure the TV is on. Some TVs also need Chromecast built-in or network standby switched on in their settings.
- Android: casting needs Google Play services. Phones without them can't cast.
Samsung, LG or Roku?
These TVs usually can't receive a cast. Open the screen in the TV's own browser instead, or get our TV app where there is one. On a Roku, plug in a Chromecast.
The TV opens but the game doesn't start
Older Chromecasts can take up to a minute to load the game. If nothing appears, try again, or open the screen in a browser.
If the TV says it can't play sound, use a browser instead, or let your phone narrate.
This always works
Every screen shows a QR code. Scan it from any phone, on any network.
