How to play

You are Mafia and you win with the Mafia. During the day, while people are still arguing, you secretly pick one player. If the town then votes to kill that player, it fails - they live, and the day ends right there, so the town loses the rest of its day. Every pick uses one of your saves whether it works or not, so a wrong read costs you the save. You can wait and listen, but the window closes once anyone is a single vote from being killed - so you cannot sit back and mark whoever the room has already decided on. The obvious move is to cover a teammate who is under pressure. The smarter move is often to pick a townsperson: when the kill fails, everyone decides that person must be Mafia, and the town wastes another day on them. When someone you picked is on trial, the vote shows who voted but not what they voted, so nobody can prove the town had enough votes. You are not available in moderator games - with one phone passed around, there is nowhere to pick in secret.
